The Key to Sustainable Results: CONSISTENCY

Consistency really is the one thing that can make or break your journey to a healthier you. I've seen so many people (including myself) start on their journey to better nutrition and fitness and one common problem is motivation. At the start of the month, its common to set ambitious new goals, plan meals carefully, and promise that this time, we'll stick to our new health routine or diet. It's great to have that enthusiasm, but it's equally important to remember that consistency is what truly matters in the long run...

Motivation vs Consistency

MOTIVATION is like the spark that starts a fire. It can be strong in the beginning, but without consistent fuel, it fades away. We've all experienced it - starting a new diet, joining a gym, or promising to eat only salads for a month. But when life gets busy, and those initial feelings of excitement start to fade, it becomes too easy to fall "off track". This rollercoaster of motivation and inconsistency can be discouraging and lead to frustration.

The key to achieving sustainable results is CONSISTENCY. Small, consistent changes are far more effective in the long run than big, sporadic changes. It's about making small, manageable changes that you can sustain over time.

For example, if you commit to exercising for 30 minutes three times a week, it's more achievable and realistic than committing to exercising for 2 hours every day. Or, if you decide to include an extra portion of veggies at each meal, it's more sustainable than completely overhauling your diet with extreme restrictions.

Consistency is about building habits that become a natural part of your daily routine. It's not just about what you do but how often you do it. And it's these small, consistent habits that add up over time, leading to big changes in your health.

Remember that motivation will be up and down in (this is completely normal), but the beauty of consistency is that it doesn't rely on motivation alone. It's about commitment, discipline, and building a foundation of good habits. So, when you lose motivation, those habits can carry you through and help you stay on track.

With the start of a new month in sight, I really want to encourage you to focus on the small steps you can take consistently. Don't be discouraged if you don't see big results overnight. Don't fall into the trap of starting the month with an all-or-nothing approach and ending it with disappointment. Instead, try focus on being consistent and remember that SMALL CHANGES lead to BIG RESULTS. Be patient with yourself, and keep your long-term goals in mind.
